PC Spec Foundry

Terms of Use & Recommendation Disclaimer

Last updated: 29 September 2026

These terms explain how PC Spec Foundry may be used and the limits of the technical recommendations, catalogue information and retailer links provided by the service.

1. About the service

PC Spec Foundry is a decision-support service that helps users research and compare PC components for particular software, workloads, budgets and form-factor preferences.

Desktop Spec Foundry (DSF) is the part of PC Spec Foundry that compares complete pre-built desktop PCs from UK retailers using the workload, budget and desktop-size information you provide.

PC Spec Foundry is not the retailer or manufacturer of the products shown. Purchases are made directly from third-party retailers under that retailer's own terms.

2. Recommendations are decision support

Recommendations are generated from catalogue data, technical specifications, workload research, compatibility rules, current pricing and automated analysis. DSF results are matched against the information you enter and its retailer-page checks, but they are not a guarantee of suitability, price, availability, specification or retailer terms. They are intended to assist your decision rather than replace your own final checks.

3. Prices, stock and specifications can change

Prices, stock status, product specifications, model revisions, retailer listings and delivery terms can change without notice.

Always confirm the exact product, current price, availability and relevant specification on the retailer or manufacturer website before purchasing.

4. Compatibility

PC Spec Foundry checks many important compatibility factors, but no automated compatibility system can guarantee that every physical, firmware, BIOS, clearance, cable, connector or manufacturer-specific issue has been identified.

Where a compatibility check cannot be fully resolved, the site may identify that check as unknown or unresolved. Users should confirm any unresolved point before ordering components.

5. Software and workload requirements

Software requirements, performance characteristics and vendor guidance can change. Actual performance also depends on the project, dataset, settings, operating system, drivers and other software used. A recommendation therefore cannot guarantee a particular benchmark result, frame rate, render time or other performance outcome.

6. Retailers and external websites

PC Spec Foundry is not responsible for retailer checkout, payment processing, delivery, returns, warranties, customer service or the content and operation of third-party websites. Any dispute relating to a purchase should normally be addressed with the retailer that supplied the product.

7. Affiliate links

PC Spec Foundry does not currently use affiliate links or receive commission from retailer links, including links shown by Desktop Spec Foundry. If this changes, the relevant links and this disclosure will be updated clearly before any affiliate relationship is used.

8. Acceptable use

You may use the site for lawful personal or business research. You must not deliberately interfere with the service, attempt to bypass security controls, misuse automated endpoints, introduce malicious code, or use the site in a way that infringes the rights of others.

9. Availability and changes

The service may be changed, updated, suspended or withdrawn. Features, catalogue coverage and recommendation methods may also change as PC Spec Foundry develops.

10. Liability and statutory rights

Nothing in these terms excludes or restricts any right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted, including applicable statutory consumer rights.

Subject to those rights, PC Spec Foundry is not responsible for losses caused solely by inaccurate or changed information supplied by third-party retailers or manufacturers, or by a user proceeding with a purchase despite an unresolved issue that the service has identified.

11. Privacy

Use of personal information is explained in the PC Spec Foundry Privacy Notice.
